Registration is now full for Blue Mondays on March 25, 2019
We are pleased to welcome Steve Davis to the Blue Mondays concert series on March 25, 2019. Considered a leading improviser on the trombone, Davis has a lyrical, hard-swinging style that has earned him critical acclaim since the 1990s. An artful collaborator, he has worked with a variety of jazz greats, including Art Blakey, Jackie McLean, Chick Corea's Origin, and the the cooperative sextet One For All. He has also led his own groups, both on stage and in the recording studio.
Davis' most recent recording "For Real" and "Gettin' It Done" feature his longtime jazz colleagues Larry Willis; Nat Reeves; drummer Billy Williams; saxophonists Abraham Burton and Mike DiRubbo; and trumpeter Josh Bruneau. Davis had led his own groups at many renown venues, including Smoke and Smalls Jazz Clubs in New York City, The Greater Hartford Jazz Festival, Baltimore's Eubie Blake Center, The Richmond Jazz Society, and Hartford Jazz Society.
